How to get the Training Started
First of all review the Automotive Training Board (ATB) website for information about:
A potential Australian apprentice is required to enrol with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) within 3 months of commencing work as an Australian apprentice (employee). The employer, employee and the AAC must negotiate and develop a training plan with the RTO. A training plan outlines the competencies and/or the learning outcomes that should be achieved during the training contract timeframe. It is recommended that the plan be developed to suit the needs of the business. The employer and the apprentice/trainer should discuss how the plan may be customised to achieve this with the chosen RTO. Complete the Training Plan and the Application for Commonwealth Entry Level Training Incentives for Apprentices form. This form can be obtained and submitted through the AAC. The training plan listing the units of competencies that the employee must achieve is to be attached to the application form. The employer, the apprentice/trainee and the RTO must all sign the training program. The RTO retains the training plan with copies going to the employee, employer and the AAC.
