Employment Process - Employer

You decide to take on an apprentice/trainee
You advertise for applicants and accept applications You contact a Group Training Company(GTC)
You receive applications and conduct a culling process The GTC becomes the employer and the industry organisation is a host employer
You contact appropriate applicants and schedule interviews The GTC advertises for applicants
The applicant attends an interview The GTC accepts applications and conducts initial interviews
You select the most appropriate applicant The GTC selects serveral applicants and refers them to you
You advise the successful applicant to commence employment on a designated day The successful applicant is then employed by the GTC and "hired out" to the host employer
The applicant commences employment
You and the AAC discuss RTO options
The training plan is negotiated
The AAC registers the apprenticeship/traineeship
You recieve financial incentives for the commencement and completion of an apprentice/trainee The GTC, as the employer, retains the financial incentive payments
The training plan and work experience is conducted
The training plan and the time served is completed
The State Training Authority issues a certificate to validate the time served
The RTO issues a qualification certificate or a Statement of Attainment
The newly qualified person can now be employed in a variety of positions within the industry.
