Where Do I Start?

Australian apprenticeships are managed in NSW by the Department of Education and Training and considerable information is available on this website as well as the recommended website links provided.

Employers are offered financial incentives as a reward and recognition of participation and Australian apprentices are paid to work and study. This is one of the very few opportunities that exist in this country for a process to operate such as it is.

  1. Research whether the occupation you are interested in is offered is an apprenticeship or traineeship. (Review, as required, the page on this website titled “What is an apprenticeship/traineeship?”)
  2. Match the desired employment requirements to those available; i.e. Full time, part time, directly by an employer or by a Group Training Company.
  3. Find a vacancy; i.e. employment agencies, newspapers, internet, word of mouth, etc. Then contact an Australian Apprenticeship Centre who can commence the process.
